This area began in the wake of 1974, as a result of the study of French consultants, SCETO (Societe Centrale pour i'equpeent touristique outre-mer) in 1970 and feasibility study conducted olej PCI (Pacific Consultants International) in 1971-1973 for financing of rock World Bank. The government handed over management of this area to PT (Persero) bali tourism development or BTDC (Bali Tourism Development Corporation) established under Indonesian republican government regulation number 27 year 1972 dated 12 nov 1972.
The area has the most complete tourism facilities in Bali, including in Indonesia, such as a 5 star hotel accommodation as much as 11 units with 3875 rooms, in addition there is also a restaurant, sports facilities (including golf courses), shopping centers and others. This area also has beautiful beaches and well-used to brekreasi and exercise.
